What did I spend my afternoon doing? Recording myself read one of my stories, a piece I started writing in Honolulu and plan to use in my MFA thesis. Why was I doing this? Because this audio, along with the text of the story, will be included in the first issue of Raft, a new online literary magazine, which is coming out in October!
(And incidentally, the editor was kind enough to contact me about my submission within 24 hours! If only all publications, big and small, print and digital, could be so prompt.)
