Traveling - WoW Trial: Day 8

To the degree that my time playing WoW has been a vacation of sorts, I've visited a lot of places. My Night Elf has flown by hippogryph among the bows of an Ygdrasil-esque tree, sailed from one continent to another to see the enormous castle that makes up Stormwind, even ridden a Dwarven-made, rat-infested proto-subway to the mountain city of Ironforge. My Tauren has spent time in a deep savannah, complete with herds of zebra unicorns and velociraptors, has discovered how much smaller goblin architecture is than, say orc buildings, and has rubbed elbows with pirates in the unalligned city of Booty Bay. That scope of travel would take me years in our non-Warcraft world, and for the purposes of this research I am willing to forgive the lack of realism.

One thing I have realized, however, is that I need a mount! Unless I'm flying or on some sort of vessel, getting from one place to another takes a lot of time. If I'd had a nightsaber (think He-man's animal companion, Battle Cat) to ride around on, I've have completed twice as many quests by now.
