I was there.
When the town guards in Auberdine yelled that the docks were under attack, I was there.
When a group of level 80 Horde characters, between 25 and 40 strong (depending on who you ask) fought their way through the guards and my fellow Alliance players (most of us between levels 10 and 20) in order to board a ship sailing for the Night Elf capital of Darnassus, I was there.
When this group of Horde fought their way through the Darnassus guards like a hot knife through butter, forcing their way into the Temple of the Moon to kill the High Priestess, I was there.
Then, of course, I foolishly tried to defend myself, and I was quickly killed. Ah well. The rumor that passed around the Night Elves was that this group of Horde had been going around to every Alliance capital to kill the rulers there. Apparently, before they decided to bother the Elves, they'd killed the King of Stormwind. Don't worry, though. Leaders, like everything else, will respawn.
My druid, at level 15, was probably one of the lowest level characters to respond to the call to arms, and while I was no match for anyone in that group, the process of racing the defend the city was exhilarating in its own way. My chances to try PvP with a Horde member of a comparable level are slim to none, as the town guards of any Alliance locale would slay them before I had a chance to fight. Thus, rushing into a hopeless and unnecessary battle against an overwhelming foe was the next best thing. I'm not on a roleplaying server, and I wasn't part of a group or party, but for a few minutes, I was roleplaying the way it's supposed to be done.
